Radiocarbon ages of five grain-size fractions range from 1600+ or -130 to 3340+ or -140 years. This variation in age indicates different sources for the materials. The sample probably is composed of carbonate material formed near the depositional site about five miles inland, western Andros Island, Bahamas, as well as material from banks west of Andros Island and from the exposed limestone platform of Andros Island itself.
